The Socialists last winter, after a sensational trial, were unseated. Largo sections of the press, notably the antiSocialistio papers, lamented this act cm tlio ground that it contravened the principles of Democracy. The sa-mo men received overwhelmingly large .majorities in the by-elcctions lield recently, their constituencies being nolablo Socialistic centres of -New lork City.
