SALE OF PRODUCE
A sale of puoduce was held yesterday afternoon and evening at the Y.W.C.A. hostel in aid of the national work (which embraces Australia, the headquarters being at Sydney) and foreign work, in India and China. The sale was opened in the afternoon by Mrs C. E. Statham, who referred briefly to tho objects of the effort, mentioning that it was hoped to raise £75 by it, and wished the promoters every success. The hostel conducted a general produce stall, under the management of Miss Rosevear, other stalls being as follows: —Cake and pie stall, Mrs Jas. Barr; groceries stall, Mrs S. Wolf; senior girls' stall (produce), Miss Hercus; i'lKill flower stall and a refreshment stall'. In the evening there were also several sideshows, and an enjoyable musical programmo was supplied by Miss Phcebe Jones, piano solos; Misses Johnstone and Foster, vocal items. The sale proved very successful, and the financial results are expected to bo satisfactory.
