The Rise and Shine dredge got deep ground on the north side of the cut last week; but it was shallower on the other Bide. The wash, was very tight, and a few largo stones bad' come in. The dredgemaster anticipates. improved returns when the ground haa been passed. There will be no waeh-up thia week. » The following information lias been cabled to the head office of the Waihi Gold Mining Company, London:—No. 12 level, .on tie Dreadnought lode, east of No. 4 shaft crosscut, has been driven 32ft, making a total of 253 ft. The value is 28s 9d per ton and the 3ft to sft.
