QUEEN'S THEATRE
The mainstay of yesterday's now programme at tho Queen's Theatre was a lively comedy-drama, "This Hero Stuff." Tho etory centres about on© Captain November Jones, who suffers the penalties of having won many vriur honours, a.rid in partiouliu" effected the famous rescoo of "the lost battalion." Tho photograph of the gallant captain haa been reproduced everywhere, and his praises sounded in all the papere, with the result this his homecoining threatens to be an extremely trying orde&l for coio who docs not love publicity. Jones sooks to dodge lu's fate by disguising himself with a board, but the fates are against him, and in the act of rasouiiiff a child from a train hia beard' is torn off, and he 1b recognised and lionised accordingly. A little later lie seizes the opportunity of spoil.bg by' an act of cowardice bis heroic reputation, but when a certain girl scorns him as a coward, hr cha; jes his attitude again, and set's out with all tho vigour ho- possesses .to win back his reputation for facing any "danger. This naturally leads to a series 'of thn ' ing fights and- perils, and in the end tho captain succeeds in convincing the one whoso opinion really counts with him that he is a gemrine hero. The pictures associated on tho programme with this one inoludo some beautiful scenic views, an up-to-date Topical Gazette, and a comody.
