WAIKOUAITI BOROUGH COUNCIL
The monthly meeting of the Waikouaiti Borough Council was held on Tuesday night; present—the Mayor (Mr G. J. L. Kerr), Ore E. Davis, T. Lanor, S. R. Smith, W. M'Dougall, A. Williamson, and S. Vanes. . . Correspondence was received regarding war trophies, and the Mayor's action in asking for trophies was approved. It was decided that the picture of Gallipoli, presented by the Rev. E. J. Neale, be hung in the Council Chambers. Tho_ '"Department of Agirculture wrote declaring prickly pear a noxious weed. — Received. * The Hospital Board levy for the current year was received. It was moved by Or Davis, end seconded by O Vanes, that the Waikouaiti School Committee be asked to remove the barbed wire and repair the fence. Complaints from Messrs W. Rendall and T. Cunningham respecting wandering cattle were .received. The clerk advised that out of £733 7s 6d (rates) £726 16s Id had been paid, leaving only £6 Is 5d unpaid.
