— . . -o ■ The half-yearly meeting of the New Waitaia Gold Mining Company, Limited, was held at Auckland last week. The chairman of directors, Mr W. C. Somers, presided. The report of the directors for the halfyear ended February 29 last, stated that it had been necessary to facilitate operations below the low level by installing a small winding and pumping plant, as the method of sinking the winze and unwatering the same by hand labour would be both slow and expensive. The erection of this plant was nearing completion, after which mining operations would be resumed at this point. The statement of receipts and .expenditure showed that the half-year had been com- | menced with a balance of £267 18s sd.
