WAIHI STRIKE
PRIME MINISTER EULOGISED. (Pkb Uhitcd P>ikßs Association.) WELLINGfTON, April 5. In a tolcjjrom to the Prime Minister the Mayor of Waihi writes regarding the part played by Mr Massey in settlement of a dispute which threatened to paralyse the gold-mining industry, which is tho sola support of the town:- ,r Waihi is impressed by your earnest personal efforts to find a settlement. I desire, on behalf of the town, to gratefully thank you for y&ir speedy and influential intervention, without which I believo irretrievable ruin would have fallen on Waihi."
