—"■» The Dunedin Y.W.C.A. has been fortunate in seeming tho services oi Miss Bentham ne genoral secretary of the association. On Saturday night a large number of the board of directors, senior and junior members of the association, gathered to welcome Miss Bentham. Mrs Duke was in the chair and opened by introducing Miss Bentham and welcoming her on behalf of tho board of directors. Miss Hercus also epoke a word of welcome from the staff. Welcomes were given by Miss Ellis, of the Tarnna Club, Miss Irvino for tho eenior tennis club, Miss Campbell for the hostel, and Miss M. Powell for the Hearthfires. Amid hearty applause Mies Bentham rose to reply. She said she felt that there viae great work to bo done, and she felt it was quite possible with the assured co-operation of the whole association. Mrs Bardsley reported on the most important features of the Auckland Convention, especially mentioning, the kind hospitality which had been shown all delegates by 'the members of the association and the people of Auckland. She also spoke of tho splendid papers given by different secretaries, and of resolutions passed and questions discussed. Misses H. Gumming, H. Barton, and R. Driver also reported on the Recreation of Convention, and of other items that had epecially interested them. During: the evening Mies E. Driver recited Kipling's " If."
