THE SEASON'S PROSPECT'S. Tho following official reports visualise tho prospects for tho coming fruit season in South Canterbury and Otago:— South Canterbury.—Pruning- is all finished, and spraying operations are cow in full swjng. Prospects for the coming season aro very promising. frosts in the mornings are still prevalent. Otago.—Apples: Promise of good crops.' Apricots: Heavy snowing, just coming into bloom. Cherries: Promise of heavy bios, soming. Nectarines: Promise of heavy crops. Peaches: Given favourable conditions crops will be heavy. Pears: Likely to be a good crop Plums: Promising a good bloom. Plums (Japanese): As usual, plenty of bloon showing. Strawberries: slants well forward. During the latter part of the month tho weather has been mild and trees aro well forward, but at timo of writing a cold snap with snow has occurred which will tend to hold the season back a
