OTAGO HARBOUR BOARD.
ENGINEER'S REPORT. Mr Wilkie (resident engineer of the Harbour Board) reports as follows for the month ended June 18:— £i x During May dredge 222 was out of commission. Portion of the pipe Hue through Lake Logan reclamation was lifted, and tho pipes cleaned, Tho majority of the old 18m pipes are very much worn, and cannot be used agam in the Vulcan's discharge line During May, two vessels were docked in the Otago Dock and two in the Port Chalmers dock. For the three weeks ended June 11 192 rmbic yards of stone wero deposited on the Spit wall. Damage to the Cross and Victoria wharves has been repairer], A start has been made on the repairs to the Mole wall, and the low places in the wall are being filled with largo blocks of concrete. Tho overhaul of the locomotive was completed and it was returned to the Gasworks on Juno 6.
