■GRAINi AND PRODUCE SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report:—Oats: The market continues firm, although, no great volume of business ie passing- on account of growara being firm holders. All descriptions are meeting with inquiry and are ealoabl© at quotations. Prime mill ing, 4a 3d to <ls AA; Rood to beat feed, is to 4s 2d; inferior and medium, 3a 3d to S3 9d per bushel., sacks extra. Wheat: Offerings of lato have been heavier. Millere are prepared to take only lines in good condition. Any lines in soft or doubtful condition are difficult to quit except at fowl wheat prices. Potatoes: Owing to the removal of the export embargo there has been more activity in the markot, and a sharp advanoo in values has boon the result. Choice, well graded lole, freshly lifted, are in. most demand. Other lines are also ealerablo at improved; rates. Choice lines to £8 103; good tables, £8 to £8 ss; others, from £7 to £8 -per ton, sasks in. Chaff: Although consignments have boon coming forward more freely all good heavy oaten sheaf has mot ready sale on arrival at quotations Owing to the shortage of winter feed there lias been moro inquiry for medium quality and light lines on the part of local feeders. Best oaten sheaf, £6 5s to £8 10s; medium to good, £5 103 to £6 2s Gd; light and in-forior, from SA 10s pei ton, sacks extra.

Messrs Donald Roid and Co. report: — Oate: There has been good inquiry during the past week, and shippers and millears are operating at an advance on late quotations. Primo milling, 4s 3d to 4s 4d; good to best feed, 4s to 4s 2d; inferior to medium, 3s 3d to 3s 9d per boshel,. sacks extra. "Wheat: Millers have now fair etocks on hand, and will take only primo lines. A number of the samples coming to hand, are iu soft condition, and miilleiß are not prepared to take these at Government rates. Fowl wheat meets with fair demand. Potatoes: The embargo has been, removed, and potatoes can now be exported. The market has consequently taken a ehcojp rise, good! table potatoes being in keen demand and meeting with ready sale. Choice tables, to £8 10s; good tables, £8 to £8 ss; others, £7 to £7 ISs per ton, bags included. Chaff: Prime oaten eheaf chaff, which has not been arriving too freely of lute, is in good, demand. There is aleo better inquiry for medium quality, and' any lots of good oaten ohaff meet with prompt sale. Best oaten sheaf, £6 5s to £6 10e; medium to good, £5 103 to £6; inferior, £4 5s to £5, bags extra. 0 STUD HEREFORD CATTLE. VALUABLE SHIPMENT FOR OTAGO. A valuable shipment of 10 Hereford stud cattle was landed ex the Mbnowai, includnng amongst them probably the pick of Mr Levett's long-established Ratanui stud, the whole of which was recently, disposed of by auction. The bull calf by President Wilson, purchased far 280 guineas, goes on to Mr Halm's Waimahaka Estate. The mother of this calf, which has again been pasturing , with President Wilson—the 2220-gTxinea consigned to Mt L. C. Hazlett (Salisbury), along l with eix other females., including one calf and three yearling heifers by President Wil6on. There were only five yearling heifers by President Wilson sold, and Mr Hazlett secured the three highest-priced of them. The other two cows are consigned to Mr W. E. Laidlow, Matakaarai.
