Shipping men spoke appreciatively of the navigating ability of Captain W. T. Liley, of the Port Phillip Pilots , Association, who successfully brought the 13,000ton liner Balmoral Castle, which is 600 ft long, up the Yoxra and to her allotted berth 'on the western basin at Victoria dock on April 24. Her great length rendered the taek of _ following the winding stream and ■negotiating the rather- narrow entrance to . the dock basin more formidable than that of piloting a steamer of greater tonnage. In addition to being the longest vessel to navigate the Yarra, the Balmoral .Castle possesses one of the longest unbroken promenadle decks yet seen on visiting overseas craft. • -So INTERCOLONIAL. The Port Denison is ono of the largest end most powerfully-engined steamers a-mong the latest additions to the C. and D. Lrne.
