AMUSEMENTS.

To-day theatregoers will have the last ohacoe of seeing at the Octagon Theatre the film account of "My Four Years in Germany," by the- famous American Ambassador who has so completely revealed the scheming; and duplicity of the German Government and thrown a flood of light on the conditions of lifo in Germany, the moral outlook of the people, and their worship of war. It is certainly a picture which every New Zealander should see.

To-day a complete change of pictures will be screened at the Plaza, tho chief picture being " This is the Lifo." This is a particularly good film, with George Walsh and his brother (R. A. Walsh) in leading roles. The picture is said to be a cyclone of lovo, action, and romance. The fifth series of the charming stories "Do Children Count?" featuring little Mary M'Allister, and other attractive pictures will also bo shown.

A fine Triangle dramatio, "Wee Lady Betty," will bo shown for the first time at Everybody's Theatre to-day. The story deals with life amongst Irish fisher folic, and the atmosphere is well maintained right through. The fifth chapter of " The Scarlet Runner" will be shown, and a Charlie Chaplin film is sure to prove a popular attraction.

Theda Bara, the vampire of the screen, as she is designated, appears in the newest Fox release, "The Vixen," at tho King's Theatro this afternoon for the first time. The New York Herald says of this picture : " Not only do the wonderful acting and magnificent settings enhance the value of the play, but the absolutely original and weird construction of the theme gives the drama_ a power of magnetism." Theda Bara is said to have scored her greatest triumph in the stellar role. A fine supporting serie.s will be shown in conjunction with the a-bove.
