MINING.
The Rise and Shine No. 1 dredge took advantage of a, rise in the river on Tuesday week to drop down stream to a more a favourable position than the one that had '• been taken up. Dredging was beg&n oh P Friday, and it was anticipated that bottom would be got early this week. -No. 2 dredge was stopped from Thursday morning 1. because of a fatal accident; but avork was to be resumed on Tuesday.
