A representative Labour meeting last night passed a resolution protesting against Mr Mack's candidature for "Wellington Central. CHRISTCHUROH. September 25. At a combined meeting of the Canterbury, Lyttelton, Rangiora, and Addington branches of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants it was resolved —" I'liat this meeting entirely dissociates itself from the action of the general secretary, Mr M. J. Mack, in his action in entering the political contest as an Independent Labour candidate for Wellington Central; that we believe his action is inimical to the best interests of Labour; and that we pledge our moral and financial support to the official Labour nominee, Mr Fraser." At the monthly meeting of the Waipukurau branch of the A.S R.S. the following motion was unanimously passed in favour of Mr Mack _ (general secretary of the society':—"lt is the unanimous wish of the Waipukurau branch that- you should suc.ceed in the election campaign for the Wellington Central seat. The branch protests against the treatment meted out to you by irresponsibles."
