Mr Samuel Mauger (an ex-Postmaster-general of Australia) has arrived at Montreal. He says he is unofficially investigating reciprocal trade relations between Canada and Australia, also American social conditions, particularly penal reforms and prohibition? He says that a constructive trade policy between the dominions would accomplish more than economic warfare against other nations.
