ANDERSON'S BAY GLEE CLUB
PATRIOTIC CONCERT. The items by the Glee Club members were nicely varied, and excellently rendered, and were creditable alike to the pertormers and their conductor, Mr H. li Armstrong. In the first portion of the programme Mr H. P. Desmoulins received a wil-niented recall for his rendring- or •Inter Nos," and Mr Trevor de Olive Lows cello solo "Andantino" (Lemare) was artisitically played, an encore being accorded the performer. Miss Meda Paine was warmly applauded for her contribution Come Out, Come Out, My Dears. , ' and had to respond to a pronounced encore. After the interval Miss Ethel Pridham gave a delightful renderng of the "Enchantress, ' her rich and powerful contralto voice being heard to much advantage, and in her encore number she was equally successful. Miss Ivy Mazengarb recited "The Highwayman" in a manner which fairly captivated her hearers, and as antencore she contributed a monologue: "The Sea." Mr Sydney Gilchrist, who is always assured of a warm reception, sang "Blow, Elow, Thou Winter Wind " very acceptably, and his encore number was also received with warm applause. Tho following items were contributed by the members of the Glee Club: "Viking Song": part songs, "As Torrents ,in Summer," "When Allan-a-dale went a-Hunting"; choral fantasia, "Rhapsody on Welsh Airs"; part songs," "The Macgregors' Gathering," " Lullaby," '"'Hunting Song," "Robin Adair," and "King Arthur." Tho accompaniments were efficiently played by Misses Evelvn Jefferv and Mary O. White, L.A.B. . _
