THE WEATHER
(From Chra Own Coebespondents.) PALMERSTON, September 24. Iho weather broke again on Saturday and ram fell almost all day. Though the weather was fine on Sunday morning, it was cold and showery towards evening, 'and yesterday it was also very wintry. Last night a really hard frost was experienced. 1 o-day the weather is beautifully fine . OTUREHUA, September 22. I'iie rainfall registered here for the 2i hours ended 9 am. was 71 points. Two inches of • snow fell.
STATION PEAK, September 23. Ihc rainfall registered here for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m. on September 22 was 46 points. After a boisterous nor'-wester, the wind veered/round to the south-west about 4 p.m. on Saturday, bringing rain which continued well into the night. A nor'wester has been in evidence again to-day and the barometer has once more dropned to a low reading. The weather conditions are very unsettled.
