ATTEMPTED FRAUD CHARGE
ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL,

AUCKLAND, September 24. .Ernest M'Kenzie pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial on a charge of attempting to obtain £70 from the Railway Department by claiming, through a solicitor, for a cycle wrongfully alleged to have been lost in transit. Tho case for the prosecution is to the effect that tho cycle had been .consigned from Raetihi to Aucidand and checked, being obtained at Auckland without giving up the check ticket.
