HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. (Per United Press a&suciaiion.j WELLINGTON, September 24. The High Commissioner cabled as follows •n September 21 (Note: Tho quotations, taxless otherwise specified, are the average market prices on. spot): — ■ Meat.—The wholesale prices of meat have been revised. Beef (hinds and frozen reepeotively): Canadian, Is 31d and la OJd;' African and Brazilian, Is 3Jd and 11 Jd; other countries, Is 3gd and Is Old , ; English eides, Is 2£d. Mutton and Lamb: "Whether English or imported, Is 3d. The retail prices have been raised to an extent averaging 2d per lb.
Butter: The prices have been revised. The wholesale price is £12 12s per cwt and tho retail 2s 6d per lb.

CHRISTCHURCH, September 24. The local grain and produce market is very quiet, there being practically nothing doing in grain.
There is a fair amount of business passing in seeds of -all kinds for spring sowing. There is a little better tone in potatoes. A 4ew moro inquiries are coming to hand, and some sales can now be effected. There are inquiries from Auckland for deliveries nest mouth. Buyers are offering £8 at country stations, whereas last month soma ■were not willing to give more than £7 15s.
