"ROMANCE," TO-NIGHT.

In His Majesty's Theatre, at 8 o'clock tonight, the curtain will rise on "Romanes" —a play 1 hat has Income famous in two hemispheres. The coming of such a distinguished artist as Miss Katiilene MucDonell is an uncommon dramatic feature. Sho is warmly remembered for her superb rendering of Judy Abbott in "Daddy Long Legs," but >it is confidently asserted that lier performance of Maxghei ite Cavallini in " Romance" surpasses that delightful creation, 'ihe play has achieved a splendid reputation in England, America, Australia, and more recently in New Zealand. In association with Miss MacDonell will again be Mr Charles Waklron, who created a marked impression in conjunction with her on a tonner visit. The principals are supported by a specially selected company. On Friday the company will present, for the first time here, a delightful phantasy, in three acts, by Childs Carpenter, entitled " The Cinderella Man," in which Miss MacDonell will apnear as Marjorie Caner and Mr Waklron as Anthony Luintaid. The concluding nights of the season will be devoted to a revival of "Daddy Long Legs." The box plans are now open at the Bristol, where tho_ advance booking is said to bo highly satisfactory. °
