LONDON, September 20. The Bank of England returns show that the stock of gold coin and bullion is £70,250,000; reserve, £30,048,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 18.87 per cent.; circulation, £59,398,000; Government deposits, £38,133,000; other deposits, £129,955,000; Government securities, £56,568,000; other securities, £99,547,000. ' Short loans, 3i per cent. ; three months' bills, 3£ per cent. Consols, £58 12s 6d; War Loans, £88 15s and £95.

Quotations for colonial stocks, as compared with those for the previous week: —

* 1921-6 currency. 1 1920-30 currency. Tin, £343 10s. Other metals unchanged. Mining shares, unchanged. Butter and Cheese : Unchanged. The War Cabinet has sanctioned the purchase of the colonial output. Negotiations between the Ministry of Food and Australian and New Zealand representatives are proceeding. Sugar: Unchanged.

A catalogue off 6789 New Zealand hides was auctioned, most of the lots being sold at late rates. Wheat and Flour: Dull. Oats: Firm. La Plata, spot sold at 63s 3d.

English Peas and Beans: Still advancing. Colonial not offering; price nominally unchanged.
