MINING.
The return from the Rise and Shine No. 2 dredge for 135 .hours' work last week was 420z. For 124- hours' work the Rising Sun dredge secured 260z lOdwt. The manager of the Rising Sun mine reports: Stoping has been continued in No. 3 'block. The reef is maintaining its size, and the ore broken, wliioh amounted to about 30 tons, yras of good grade. The eastern crosscut was advanced to 14ft through, a good and firm class of country rock. MOUNT GREENLAND COMPANY. (Fhom Oor Own Cobbespondsnt ; • WANGANUI, Sept-ember 22. The Mount Greenland Company's mining property, near Ross, is opening up well, and advice has been received from the manager that the low le<vel operations are producing ore of good quality. For the week ended September 11 a crushing of 15 tons resulted in a return of gold valued at £65.
