AMUSEMENTS.
"Under False Colours" is the principal picture at the Queen's Theatre, to which it is attracting large attendances. An additional episode of "The Double Cross" serial and the comedy success, "The Firemen," featuring Charles Chaplin, are the supporting films. George Walsh is etill entertaining patrons of the Plaza • Theatre in " The Book Agent," a light comedy-drama of very considerable merit. "The Eook Agent" is supported by "The Song of Hate," a story of love and revenge, and by other films. The programme is quite up to standard. Kitty Gordon, in "The Purple Lily," is the attraction at Everybody's Theatre. The story is of the captivating ord-sr. Chapter 11 of " The Lass of the Lumberlands" carries the serial to a most interesting stage. A Keystone comedy and a good Topical Budget are also included in the programme. COMEDY ENTERTAINMENT. Mr Alexander Wateon, the 'great entertainer, whose visit to Dunedin some years ago will be remembered with delight, will bsgin a season at Burns Hall on Thursday evening, October 3. Since his previous visit to the dominion Mr Watson travelled in France and Flanders, and gave recitals to the boys, and also visited most of'the English military hospitals. Plans will be open at tho Bristol next Saturday morning. ~ CONCERT AT CAYERSHAM. The entertainment to be held at tho Caversham Methodist School Hall on Wednesday promises to bo most attractive. In addition to selections by some of Dunedin's leading artists, a variety of humorous and spectacular items will be provided. PATRIOTIC CONCERT. Tho Anderson's Bay Glee dub is to givo a concert in Burns Hall next Tuesday evening in aid of the funds of the Anderson's Bay Patriotic Association. This will be the first appearance of the Glee Club in a oitv hall, and it is hoped that the intrinsic quality of the programme, together with the object of the concert, will aacure a full house. The Glee Club will sing eoveral part songs, including the fine " Rhapsody on Welsh Airs," " The MacGregors' Gathering," and the humorous " King Arthur." Tbs soloists are all wellknown artists. Mr Leech is unfortunately called away from Dunedin, but Mr H. P. Desmoulins has kindly promised to sing in his stead.
