A Wellington Press Association message states that the Very Rev. Father Roche, who has been for the past six years Superior at St. Gerald' 6 Redemptorist Monastry, Wellington, lias been appointed Director of the Redemptorist College of St. Olement, Geelong. His suocessor at St. Gerald's will be the Very Rev. Father Whelan. The young Dunedin soprano, Miss Natalina M'CaLlum, is making a very favourable impression with the Cappelli Concert Party in the north. The Auckland Herald says: Miss M'Oallum's outstanding success was gained in Sullivan's " Poor Wandering One" (flute obligate by Mr J. Amadio). The young soprano here excelled herself in a brilliant piece of vocalisation. An appealing quality of tone in the higher range was suggested by Miss M'Callum in her other solo, " Love Divine." The soprano also sang " Wake Up" and " Dawning" by way of recalls. An arrival at Wellington from Sydney by tho Moeraki on Monday was Mr Ting Shoa, of the Chinese Consular Service. Mr Shoa, who was secretary at the Consulate at Vancouver, has been transferred to a similar position at Wellington. Mr James Steele, of the Oamaru branch of the New Zealand Insurance Company, is under orders to transfer to the Wellington office. Mr Steele has for many years been intimately connected with the social and commercial life of Oamaru. Tho Rev. H. O. Hanby, vicar of Farrlie, has been appointed by the Military Affairs Committee Anglican chaplain of the King George V Convalescent Hospital and Church Institute at Rotorua. He takes up his duties early next month. The Auckland Star states that Mr O. V. Nelson, for about 30 years with Messrs Sargood, Son, and Ewen, has been transferred to the firm's Dunedin branch. On Friday night the staff made a presentation in recognition of the pleasant relations existing. Mr Nelson has taken a keen interest in aquatics for many years, and _is one of the oldest boating men in Auckland.
