BRITISH GIFTS FOR BELGIAN SOLDIERS.

TO THE EDITOR. Silt.—Belgian soldiers, unlike the soldiers of their Allies, have no one to send them any comforts. Their families havo remained in Belgium under German rule, and it is materially impossible for them to communicate in any way ivitli their boys at the front. Hitherto Australia has, in many instances, tn-ken tho placo of those absent Belgian families by kindly sending us money, with which wo havo been able to dispatch many thousands of parcels containing those comforts soldiers appreciate so mucn. But now, in Jhd fourth year of the war, our funds aro decreasing. May I appeal to your generosity? Just think of what it means to your husbands, sons, and brothers to reooivo t-he«i m irks of affection, and do not grudge them to tho Belgian soldiers who, for so long, havo been separated from their own people.—l am, etc., Emile Vandeeveme. ol Grosvenor place, London, S.W. 1, April 3,
