i n°- Pt ' 9 ross kitchen competition for exhibits of pikelets, girdle scones, pickles, plum cake, short breiul, scones, sjiongo cake, and assorted pastry attracted a good number of entries, eome coming from Oamaru and Kurow. These wero judged ®J'. ilr James Brown, who expresse<l the opinion that tho exhibits were of high quality all round. Tho awards made are as follow:— * Pikelets. Four entries—Mrs W. Dickinson (Dunedin) 1, Miss Mattie Wilson (Dunedin) 2. Girdle scones. Three entries—Mise L. ivainsay (Dunedin) 1. 1 ickies. Three entries'—Miss Joy Rogers (Kurow) 1. Plum cake. Two entries—Miss Rosie Uwens (Burnside, Oamaru) 1. Shortbread. Six entries —Mrs Veitch 1, Mrs Gillandsr (Musselburgh) 2. Scones. .Five entries—Miss C. Ross (Dunedin) 1. v Sponge cake. Six entries—Mrs R. Bayley 1, Mrs P. Haggart (Mihiwaka) 2. Assorted pastry. Three entries—Miss C. Rosa 1, Mrs P. Haggart 2.
