(F*om Oub Own Cobhespondbsct ) Tl a■ ■ AUCKLAND, May 28. me decision of the Government to enForce conscription amongst the Maoris in the Waikato district was considered at a meeting of Natives at Waahi, near Huntly, on Sunday. There was a good attendance, those present, it is statedfi numbering 500 or 600. It is stated on good authority that it was decided that those present would have nothing whatever to do with conscription. The Medical Board had appointed a sitting to bo held at Huntly yesterday for the purpose of examining those Natives whose names appeared in the recent ballot ust. Only five ■ Maoris presented themselves for examination. These men are employed at the Pukemiro collieries., and by reason of their occupation they are entitled, to claim exemption.
