Evidence showed that Bernstorff's son stole the complainant's wife. Complainant thrashed him and tore off his epaulettes, whereupon the society intrigue cau£ed complainant's discharge from the army. The evidence alleges that Bemsrorff used his ambassadorial position to uphold his son s misconduct.
