PRINCESS THEATRE.
Tho Vivians, a pair of juvenile entertainers, who ar© well and favourably known m Dunedin by reason of their many successfui appearances at the concerts given by , the Competitions Society, made their professional debut at the Princess Theatre last evening. The little girl, appropriately costumed in each instance, contributed three items, and her brother also sang very sweetly. The performance of tho clever juveniles made aa instant appeal, and at its conclusion they were loudly applauded, the little girl being presented with several boxes of chocolates. Watson and Smart also made a first appearance. The lady san£, and her partner gave a burlesque of a tired fireman whose last desire evidently Tivas to answer a "call." The burlesque was rather flimsy affair, but its humourous possibilities were well treated, and the turn was loudly applauded. The rest of the programme was contributed by stopovers from the previous week. Mr C. and Maud Courtney continue as popular favourites as ever, ana their duet "I Would Still Love You," freshened up weekly with new topical verses,' never fails to win applause. Mr C.'s many stories—some new, some old—also brought forth a constant ripple of merriment. Tho Trio Classique was again responsible for a fine musical programme. Each of tho trio—Dov Adelle (piano), Lance Kennedy (flautist), and Laurie Kennedy ('cellist.) —contributed a solo in finished style, and their performance was opened and concludod with a concerted number. The many brightlvroloureo scenes included in the turn entitled The Siren of the Deep" proved very pleasing to tho eye. Miss Winifred i ? nce ' producer of this spectacular act, also contributed a couple of solos. A charming dancing turn was given by Dick and Dorothy trio, and tho melodies they a ' so mee * much acceptance. t Kelly and Drake wore loudly applauded for their singing and dancing act, Kelly > once more demonstrating his wonderful cleverness as a grotesque dancer. Ward Lear, comedian and mimic, was the remaining performer, his laughing song prov-'' mg quite contagious.
