Mr A. North presided over the monthly meeting of tho Clutlia. County Council oil; Friday. C. J- M'Kenzie (District Engineer, .Pubjii Works Department) notified his approval, of plans and specifications for proposed work on tho Kelso-Waikaka. road, and also the work on tho Clinton In Pomahaka Downs' road. On receipt of formal authority from Wellington the work would be put in hand.' Receivod . _ W. Russell (Paretai) wrote that the, drain and creek from the Waitapeka Rivor to the Swamp road was being tramped in by cattle. The Otanomomo River Board borrowed £600 to clean out creeks, drains,' etc., and it looked as if it wemjd soon_ have: to raise another loan. Tho writer objected, to paying drainage rates, as tho water was held ut> from the bridge to his property.— Agreed that steps be taken to deal with the matter. Cr Overton moved —"That a deputation, consisting of . Crs North, Maginnis, and himself, wait upon the Hon. Sir W. Fraser, nfc Dunedin. during Show Week, in connection with the Poinahaka bridge."—Agreed
