Enormous crowds welcomed the .Prince, who takes part in the celebrations in honour of the anniversary of Italy's entry into the -war. THIRD WAR ANNIVERSARY. KINO'S MESSAGE TO MR WILSON. . NEW YORK, May 25. (Received May 26, at 5.5 p.m.) President Wilson received a message (in reply to one sent by him) from King Emmanuel on the third anniversary of Italy's entry into the war, saying: The nation's conscience drove her into the war on the side of the peoples fighting for the sacred principles of right and iustice, without which it would be impossible to secure a stable peace." AMERICAN TRiOOPS GOING. WAR SECRETARY'S DECLARATION. NEW YORK, May 25. (Received May 26, at 5.5 p.m.) Mr Baker (Secretary for War), in the courso of a speech, said the time was undoubtedly not far distant when American troops, machine-gun unite, and artillery would be fighting on the Italian front.
