BANK OF PATRIOTISM
Excellent business was transacted on Saturday. So far, about 12,000 shilling drafts have been sold. There is always a ready sale for them. Should a draft draw only a nominal prize when* presented, it will bo stamped " Presented," and should be left 'by the holder to compote for threo valuable prizes donated for first, second, and third largest holders of presented drafts after ill other prizes have been drawn. About 20 prizes of considerable value have already been claimed. In all, there aro 250 prizes, valued at £1500. The bank depot in George street is a considerable attraction to large numbers. The extent and tho value of the prizes are commented on by everybody. The ready response of the public to the appeal for funds is a recognition of tho excellent work of tho Women's Patriotic Association. The Citizens' Committee has decided to hold a grand street day on Friday, and lady volunteers are urgently needed, as many members of the Otago Women's Patriotic Association are engaged at tho tea-rooms in conjunction with the Winter Show, and are thus unable to assist-. A spccial meeting will 'be held at the depot, corner of George street and Moray place, to-morrow afternoon to enlist ladies for tho bi£ draft sale on Friday.
