THE WINTER SHOW
Tho buildings and annoxes of the Otago A. and P. boeiety represent a scene of gloat activity at present. Tho stallholders aro busy erecting (.heir stands ,and exhibitors and others ure preparing for tho judging, whl'i'Ji will take plnci; loniori\>w morning. Tho dairy experts will complete the judging of factory butter and factory choose to-day, and the keenest competition is anticipated! between the various factories. Tho ladies of the Otago and Southland Women's Patriotic Association are making every effort to supply the best in tho way of lunches and afternoon teas. This year the display of hpplcs will, in itself, be a very fine one, nnd tho collection of fleeces of the various breeds of wool is suro to attract the interest of the public. The exhibition of livo stock will be. a fiiio ono, ns tho entries in both cattle and sheep are good, and the quality prime. The show will bo opened at 2.30 p.m. by the Hon. ■W. D. S. MaoDonald l (Minister of Agriculture) in His Majesty's Theatre. There will Ikj a good musical programme every afternoon and evening during the show. Those who have rooms available are asked to communicate with the secretary, who is preparing lists, to enable visitors to Dunedin to find accommodation. Although tho war has taken so many from the country, present indications point to a very successful show. All the arrangements aro well in hand. The judging of the general exhibits will commence at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
