PLAZA THEATRE
llie chief picture, presented for tho first time yesterday at the Plaza Theatre is Hig Iromame," in which Harold Lookwood and May Allison are linked as hero and lierome, and give very fine expositions ot two very interesting characters. "Big Iremaino' is probably amongst tho very best results that have - been produced by the Metro. -Lockwood-Allison combination. ■Liio story has appeared in book form lonp; a £°> b most likely unforgotten by nianv who havo read it. It contains an admixture of love, tender family ties, money, and politics, ait of which play an important Part. rhero is no lack of vigour of action about the play, which is all movement, and incident?.Jy many splendid scenic effects are produced on the screen. The situations are amply sufficient to arouso the most lethargic. Summarised, a man is accused of a crime committed by his own brother, and even his own mother suspects hini of being guilty. Beset, as ho is, on every side he, to use an Americanism "Wins out." which , I " ter P rcted - means that ho faces his difficulties and overcomes them. John lremaine is under a cloud for years, and bears his burden like a man, finally standing forth as_ an honest and honoured man. In all his trials he is supported and assisted by a tender, loving, and faithful woman--just such a one as appeals to the emotions when placed on the scrocn. and much more when met with in real life. It is a fine play, well displayed pictorially. The supporting films are a very fine scenic, "Rio de Janeiro, ' ono of the latest gazettes, a further instalment of "Tho Girl and the Game, and 'a good comedy.
