IMPORTANT LETTER FROM SIR JAMES ALLEN. An important communication from Sir James Allen, bearing on tho re-en]istment ot returned soldiers, was received at last night s meeting of the Committee of tho vr.^T 1 . 4 lerß ' , Association. Tho Muustor stated that the Government would bo willing to accept the services of discharged soldiers in any dumber, provided they were clas.ilied as medically fit for further active service. If sufficient numbers were forthcoming m a body tliey would bo lormed into separate units in New Zealand and these special units would lie kept together in New Zealand and re-despatched on active service as separate units. On their arrival at the overseas base the men would, so far as it was possible to do so bo posted to their original units in tho Expeditionary Force. Should a largo number of returned soldiers be forthcoming for this purpose, it would be necessary to arrange for them to be despatched to camp in bodies at regular intervals, and not in small numbers.
