Dtmedin on Thursday by- the relatives of I/ance-eergeant Alexander MK-iregor M'Gnvin, to the effect that he died in hospital in France on January 9 from cerebrospinal meningitis. Lancesergeant M'G&vin left New Zealand with the Twenty-eighth Reinforcements, and was severely wounded and gassed on November 17. News of his death oame as a surprise, ae letters were received' by several of hie friends in the. city on Wednesday in which he stated that he hoped to be rejoining his unit in the course of a week or two.

Sinclair, of whose death from wounds news hae just been received, 'was a member of B Baitexy and one of the first two employees of the Otago Daily Times Company to volunteer tor service on the outbreak of war.
