COURSING ASSOCIATION
The New Zealand Coursing Council met last evening. Mr B. S. Irwih presided a full attendance of delegates.
Correspondence.—William Anderson, who ■was disqualified in November, 1916, for two years, applied for reinstatement. —Refused. A letter was received from Richard Coombes, Sydney, containing the subject matter regarding the constitution of the Coursing Union of Australasia. —It-was agreed to consider this at a special meeting in November. -Mr P. A. Kelly, Melbourne, wrote stating that the conference of associations had agreed "that the maximum amount which any promoting club may deduct from stake money is 10 per cent."— This matter was discussed at length, and it was agreed that this could not apply to New Zealand, on account of bookmaking being prohibited.—The secretary was instructed ;to apply for the suspension of this clause for New Zealand.——The secretary of the New Zealand Kennel Club wrote stating that an application from the council for all greyhounds registered by the New Zealand Coursing Association, to "be eligible to show at affiliated shows held under their was declined," as the Kennel Club considered that the acceptance of the proposal would cause discontent among , other specialist fanciers. General. —The Otago Central Coursing Club made application for the control of the 1918 Waterloo.—lt was decided, in accordance with the terms of the New Zealand Conference of Clubs', that next year's event be held in the South Island, and that applications for its control be invited.Reports regarding the running of last month's coursing: meetings were received from New Plvmbuth, Wanganui, and ChristThe secretary submitted a draft copy of ciub rules, which wag referred to a sub-committee of Messrs L. Carter and W. Everest for consideration. The conditions of the running of an Australasian Wntnrloo Cup were also referred to the above committee.
