HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

In the House of Representatives this afternoon the SPEAKER announced that tho Legislative Council did not insist on the amendment made in Clause- 29 of the War Legislation Bill. On the motion of the Hon. Mr HERDMAN, the House agreed to th,o amendment in Clause 16.
STATUTE LAW AMENDMENT BILL.
On the motion of the Hon. Mr HAN AN, the amendments made by tho Legislative Council in the Statutes Law Amendment Bill were agreed to. He explained that Clause 19, suspending industrial awards, to enable disabled soldiers to enter trades for tho purposes of tuition, had been struck out, much to his personal regret. Mr PAYNE said ho wished to make it clear that the Labour party desired to I help the soldiers in every way possible, and ■he thought the under-rato permit system gave the Minister all the power ho required. TOWN PLANNING. ' The Town Planning Bill was read a first time, and an order was made that it bo printed. I
