PRINCESS THEATRE

The large and appreciative audience which gathered in the Princess Theatre last evening testified to the popularity of the current programme of vaudeville. Blake and Gianby, a of English character actors, present a one-act comedy which is full of sparkling and popular humour, and. which was followed with the closest attention and amused interest. Jones and Raines appear in a medley of mirth and music, and are invariably accorded a warm reception. Jack and Vera Kearns, tho Devons, M'Kay and Graham, and tho remaining pcrfcrmere all contribute pleasing items to an admirable bill and one that, gives genuine pleasure. The same company will appear to-night. While comparisons arc always odious it is probable that most Fuller patrons will 1>., , in agreement on the fact that the Paul Stanhopo revues of a couple of years ago provided more genuine comedy Uian anything of tho. kind that hae succeeded them. It will therefore be a real pleasure to theso patrons to learn that the little Irish •funmaker will return to Dunedin on Saturday at tho head ot a complete new company of revue specialists, 20 in number. Since that notable first season Mr Stanhope has been in America, and he has collected what is described as a splendid band of supporters to make new fun. The season commprices at tho matinee with the production oc the musical farco " Safety First." Tho box plan is now open at the Bristol.
