Wednesday, SEPTEMBEB 26. (Before Mr H. A. Young, S.M.) Drunkenness.—William Powell, Charles Henry Heatly, and Albert James Dillon were each fined 10s, or 4-8 hours' imprisonment, and Duncan Kearns M'Diarmid, who did nob appear, was fined 20s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. Charles Risk was remanded for a .week for medical treatment. There were two charges against him, one for drunkenness and the other for committing a grossly indecent act Prohibition .Order, —A prohibition order was granted against a man on the application of his father. By-law Cases.—For leaving a vehicle unattended, John Woods was convicted and ordered to pay costs (12s 8d). For a similar offence, George Rutherford was fined 10s, with costs (75).-; —On two informations of leaving a vehicle unattended, John Hussey was convicted and ordered to pay court costs (7s) on each charge.—ln this case Sub-inspector Mathieson stated that defendant was in an hotel at the time, and had a long list of convictions against him covering offences committed through drink.—'The Magistrate then issued a prohibition order against Hussey. For driving a vehicle on the wrong side of the road, James Carmichael was fined 20s, with costs (7s). For driving a motor car after sunset without it having a red light at the rear, Henry Wright was fined lQs, with costs (7s). James Bruce Stevens was fined 20s, with costs (7s), for riding a motor cycle without obtaining a certificate of competency to do so.—Sub-inspoctor Mathieson staged that defendant tried; to rid© the machine, which ran into and broke a window valued at £25, the property of Mr Penrose. There was a possibility that there would be civil proceedings in regard to the matter. Georgeson Bros, were fined ss, .with costs (7s), for peamritting a horse to wander. A Military Case. —Charles Kerr, a Second Division reservist, was oorrvicted' and ordered to pay 7s (court costs), for failing to notify the Government Statistician of his change of address. He stated that ho sent a notico, but did not register the communication. Dog Registration. — Benjamin Walker, charged with failing to register a dog, was convicted and discharged!, the registration fee having been paid.
