GENERAL NEWS
The monthly meeting of the Dunedin Athenfeum Committee was held on Monday night. Mr J. L. Salmond occupied the chair. It was reported that 52 volumes had been added to the library since last meeting; that 26 new. members had joined tho institution, and that the following presentations had been received:—Statistics of tho State of Tasmania for tho year 1915-16; and tho Report of the Executive Committeo of the Australian Commonwealth Advisory Council of Science and' Industry, covering the period from April 4, 1916, to June 30, 1917. It was decided to order " Tho Poetry Review," also a number of new books recommended by the Library Committee.
