The Commonwealth Defence Department has notified Mrs E. Muirson, of 468 St Asaph street, Christchurch, that her son] Captam K. Muiraon, ISth Machine Gun Company, has been mentioned in despatches llio following despatch has been received by the Secretary of State for War from Goneral feir Douglas Haig, G. 0.8., Com-rnandcr-in-Chiof of the British Armies in Franco.— I have the honour to submit the name of the under-mentioned officer serving under my command, whose distinguished services and devotion to dutv I consider deserving of special mention, Captain Kenneth Muirson.'' Since the receipt of the above letter, Mrs Muirson has received advice that her son has been promoted to tho rank of major, and has been awarded the Military Cross.
