BOWLING.
OTAGO CLUB. The annual meeting of the Otago Bowling Club was held last evening. Mr C, Speight (president) in the chair. Iho annual report set forth that from a playing point of view the past season would lons be remembered by all bowlers as one of the best experienced 'for many years. Three members had joined his Majesty's forces—viz., Messrs Column, Strang, and. Rowley, and the committee wished them* luck and a safe return. The club recorded its regret and sympathy with its patron (Mr Wm. Dawson) in the loss of his son-in-law (Mr Livingston), and also with Mr Newman in the loss of his son—both while on active service. The committee recorded with regret the death of Mr John Keinnitz, on 5 of the first members of the club at its inception; ako the death of Mr William Henderson, a well-known figure amongst bowlers. Following is the result of club ties champion, E. T. G. Falconer; runner-up, C. R. Smith. Handicap Singles, II L. Snith; runner-up, W. Crawford. Doubles, Hart and J. Cooke; runners-up, A. M'Leod and P. Mark. Rinks--CL M'Peak, J. Lang, F. H. King, and H. L. Smith; runners-up—Captain Sundstrum, Huntley, Newman, and E. Falconer. In moving the adoption of the report, the Chairman said that it could not but be cons.dered satisfactory. Throughout the past season the green had maintained excellent condition, and he had no doubt that, under the supervision of the club's new caretaker it would still improve. Commenting. on the standard of play, the Chairman said that a new scheme was under consideration which it was ant.cipatcd would help to improve matters. The finances of the club were satisfactory in so far as the bark held a credit balance in favour of the club of £30 10s Id. —(Applause.) Election of officers:—Patron, Mr *V Daw son; president, Mr C.
