July 25. ine Governor-general has received a tele* gram from the Secretary of State fbr the Colonies stat.ng that the Imperial Government is ottering pr.zes amounting to £500 tor models for a small memorial plaque in bronze, to be given to the next-of-kin of British sa.lors and soldiers who have fallen in the war. A simple design is wanted, including the inscription: "He died for freedom, and honour."
