A charming and' novel conception has been evolved by tho author of " The Littlo Brother," now 'being screened as the leading attraction at the Octagon Theatre. Miae Enid Bennett, a young- Australian actress, fills the name role as " the little brother," and invests the part with much. piquancy and •grace. The ending is a highly satisfactory one, and gives pleasure to all who have watched the career of the heroine. The Lottery Man" is tho star film in tho change of programme to be instituted at tho Queen's and King Edward Theatres today. The leading character is a young college man, who, thrown on his own resources, gets a Job as a reporter. Then he gets a great idea. He induces the pa,pea- to start a lottery, with himself as tno prize. He agrees to irjarry the woman who bolcfe the lucky number, or, if she refuses him, she is to have half of the gTand prize of 100,000 dollars, and he is to get the rest. Then he falls in love with his chum's oausin, and repents the lottery plan. From this point matters become tangled, but the end is a happy one. As tho Aquatic Fete held in the Municipal Baths on Saturday last proved such a success, and as a la roe number were turned away, the Dunedin Returned Soldiers' Association has decided to run a repeat performance on Saturday. The evening's performance promises to be a real good one, as all the spectacular itema that were given in the last week's carnival will be reipeated These comprise epar boxing, punt fighting, exhibition diving, Mr Olds's exhibition, a song scena, etc., etc. Mr Olds will give an exhibition entirely new to Dunedin. The committee was well pleased' with last week's houses, and hopo that, as it is by special request it is repeating the programme, it will have the public's support. Only one performance will be given.
