'LYITELTON, July 24.—Arrived: Maori (8.10 a.in.), from Wellington. TIMARU, July 24.—Arrived: Storm (7.15 <uhl), from Duuodin. _ Tho Kotaro arrived last night with timber from Stewart Island, and, will sail tomorrow for Invercargili. The Breeze is due here to-day with a °arso of benzine from Wellington, and . to-morrow for northern ports. .Karnona cleared Westport yesterday with ooal for Dunedin, whero she is due on Thursday night. ~ The Rosamond arrived at Westport at 5 a-m. yesterday from Onehunga, audi was to sail last night for Napier. • 10 Kaka P° sailed from Timaru last night for Westport, whero she will load coal for Port Chalmers. The Te Anau cleared Bluff at 4 a.iru yesterday for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. The Corinna sailed from New Plymouth at midnight on Monday for Wellington and Dunedin. She is due here on Friday, and \yill sail late that night or early on Saturday morning on the return voyage. Excepting at meal hours work never , cease 3, night or day, at the Wellington patent slip, where the refloated barque is being repaired. The men now operate in two shifts, so that the work is continuous . , throughout the 24 hours. Up till Saturday evening eight of the damaged steel plates , had been removed from the hull, but it will ; bo some days before the other eleven badly ; dented plates are out. A few of the plates v, have, already been rolled at the Patent Slip , Company s works at Evans Bay, but a number are too badly damaged to bo . straightened for iisp again. Stome other plates which ore slightly dented are being straightened without removal from the hull. Portions of the damaged frames aro being Si fc ° ut ' and ncw P' p ces are to be put in : Th ° repair work witt occupy fully a month yet. THE PUTIKI. Mr Keith Ramsay has been appointed iocal agent for the coastal steamer Putiki which was purchased for £5300 by a syndicate in which several Dunedin firms are interested. The vessel is expected at Port Chalmers on Friday night, and will be docked on Monday for cleaning and repairs, after which she will come up to Dunedin to load general cargo for northern porta.
