<» MR MYERS FAVOURABLE. POWERS MUST BE RESTRICTED. (Fib. Usited Pktsss Association.) ATTCKXAND. June 23. A deputation representing , several women's organisations waited on tho Hon. A. M. Myers, asking for support in furtherance of tho proposal for the appointment of ■women polioe. Mr Myers replied that ho would confer with Mr Hrrdrmn aboat it. "Personally, he thought it highly desirable that women should be appointed with power to deal with certain phases of life touched upon by tho speakers. He could not, however, support any proposal that such women polico be given the power of an ordinary policeman. Ho would not approve, for instance of their arrr?stinj a man. Tpridentnlly the Minister stated that we had every' reason to be gratified with tho present Police Department, which did it? work and well.
