TAIERI COLLIE CLUB

Mr Win. Blaekie presided over a good attendance of members at a meeting of the Taieri Collie Club on Saturday night. It was resolved to hold the trials in Dun"edin Winter Show Week, and that the programme consist of Maiden, All-comers, Huntaway, Local, and Consolation, the last two provided timo permits. "The prizes wore fixed on tho percentage basis of the entry money—so per cent to first dog, 25 per cent, to second dog, and per cent, to third dog. It was decided that any profits bo given to tho Taieri Women's Patriotic Association. Tho president and secretary were ap- . pointed to interview the Taseri Women's Patriotic Association with reference to catering. A sub-committee, consisting of tho president and secretary and Messrs Gibson and Scott, was set up to arrange for a supply of sheep. Mr A. P. G-ibson promised a donation of a fat lamb for a prize for the first day's sheep-guessing. A number of special money prizes were promised in the meeting. Several inquiries were placed before the meeting for programmes from intending competitors from various parts of Otago, and a few from the North Island; consequently there is every reason to believe t.W the trials will eclipse any of the preceding ones.
