BRITAIN'S FOOD PROBLEM.

Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, April, 15. Mr Kennedy Jones, M.P., who -was recently appointed an organiser of food supplies under the Food Controller (Lord Devonport), states r " It will be necessary to save every crumb of bread. Persons throwing away crusts, and housewives, neglecting a rigid supervision over household rations, are all helping the enemy. Everybody should become his own food controller, eating lib less bread weekly than before the war. It is officially calculated that this will provide a margin of safety in bread supplies, despite the continuation of torpedomgs by submarines, and will enable the nation to carry on till the new harvests. The nation should feel on its honour to reduce the consumption of bread. If it is not reduced speedily compulsory rationing must be introduced." Mr Jones said that he believed our armies would compel the Kaiser to throw up the sponge by September.
